Finger Lakes Community College is seeking a dedicated, full-time Nursing Faculty member for a 10-month academic-year appointment. The faculty member works 162 days per academic year, from late August through May, with winter and spring breaks. Faculty are not required to work in June, July, and most of August, though summer teaching may be available and preparation for the next semester may be needed. Overload work and other assignments may increase the base salary. Promotion pathways are available to Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor, and academic rank is determined based on experience. The nursing department teaches most courses in a hybrid format, with approximately half of each course delivered asynchronously online and half in a traditional classroom format. Teaching assignments may include Fundamentals or Medical-Surgical courses, professional nursing topics, and pharmacology. The role includes classroom instruction as well as clinical and simulation/laboratory instruction, with opportunities to team teach alongside supportive faculty. FLCC describes itself as a community focused on accessible, high-quality education and student success. It emphasizes equity, diversity, and inclusion and encourages applications from historically under-represented groups. The position also involves student advising and mentoring, college service, and professional development.
