About The Position

James Madison University (JMU) School of Nursing invites applications for a 12-month tenure-track faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor beginning August 10, 2027. The School of Nursing offers CCNE-accredited Baccalaureate, Master’s, and Doctor of Nursing Practice programs. This position will primarily support teaching in the traditional BSN and the RN to BSN pathway. Requirements

  • A minimum of a graduate degree in nursing and a Doctorate in Nursing or a related discipline is required.
  • Candidates expecting to earn a doctoral degree prior to May 2027 will be considered, with the requirement that the successful candidate must have the doctoral degree in hand by May 2027.
  • An active RN registration and the ability to obtain Virginia nursing licensure by the position’s start date of August 10, 2027 are required.
  • At least three years of recent clinical experience in nursing.
  • Completion of an online application.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching, scholarship, and professional, community, and/or university service.
  • Role of RN to BSN pathway coordinator.
  • In-person and online teaching in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings for the traditional BSN and RN to BSN pathways.
  • Oversight and/or engagement of student scheduling, clinical site management, curriculum, student and faculty orientations, outcomes data collection and analysis, student advising, prospective student recruitment and RN to BSN admissions.
