About The Position

Adjunct faculty members perform a number of roles and functions, each of which reflects the core competencies of their discipline. Those competencies include facilitating learning, facilitating learner development and socialization, using assessment and evaluation strategies, functioning as a change agent and leader, pursuing continuous quality improvement in the educator role, and functioning within the educational infrastructure, mission, and policies of the College/ Institute.

Requirements

A minimum of a master's degree with 15 semester credit hours in the discipline for appointment as a faculty member.
Current knowledge in one's area of responsibility.
A commitment to teaching and helping students develop an abiding interest in education and a desire to help the college maintain the standards appropriate to an institution of higher education.
Ability to maintain rapport with colleagues and students and to conduct themselves with a high level of professionalism.
Documented knowledge of education, instructional delivery, and adult learning.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally, in writing, and through learning technologies such as computers and e-mails.
Ability to work with staff, faculty, students, and the Academic Leadership Team.

Responsibilities

Creating an environment in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings that facilitates student learning and the achievement of desired learning outcomes.
Being knowledgeable about the educational environment, resources, and document integrity.
Working within and supporting the policies, mission, and cultural practices of the College/Institution.
Adhering to all policies and procedures.
Maintaining on-time attendance at every assigned class, clinical, or lab.
Teaching the full allotted time for the assigned course.
Adhering to course syllabus, content outline, class schedule and textbook use.
Being available to advise students.
Attending all-hands and faculty meetings as required.
Submitting final grades by the last day of each term.
Submitting attendance and grades each week.
Performing other assignments as requested by the Academic Leadership Team.
