Nursing Education Specialist - Nursing Professional Development
About The Position
The Nursing Education Specialist (NES) works collaboratively to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate educational activities through a systems model for Department of Nursing staff. These activities include orientation, continuing education, and competency programs. The role includes serving as a learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader, champion for scientific inquiry, advocate for the Nursing Professional Development specialty, and partner for practice transitions. The role is eligible for TN sponsorship. Successful sponsorship requires state licensure and completion of the VisaScreen or equivalent certification.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and a Master's Degree in Nursing or a nursing healthcare/education-related degree; an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) is accepted when accompanied by a Master's Degree in Nursing.
- Minimum of three years of nursing practice experience.
- Current RN license in accordance with applicable state requirements.
- Additional state licensure(s) and/or specialty certification or training as required by the work area.
- Applicants meeting all other qualifications may commit to completing the required degree within six months from the application date.
Nice To Haves
- Master's degree in Nursing preferred.
- Education focus in the Master's in Nursing program preferred.
- Experience in educational programming.
- Demonstrated teaching skills.
- Certification in nursing professional development preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) competency highly recommended.
