The Nursing Education Specialist (NES) collaborates to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate educational activities for Department of Nursing staff, including orientation, continuing education, and competency programs. The role involves functioning as a learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader, champion for scientific inquiry, advocate for Nursing Professional Development, and partner for practice transitions. This position is eligible for TN sponsorship, requiring state licensure and VisaScreen or equivalent certification.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and a Master's Degree in Nursing or a nursing healthcare/education related degree required.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) is accepted when accompanied by a Master's Degree in Nursing.
  • Minimum of three years of nursing practice experience.
  • Current RN license by applicable State requirements.
  • Successful TN sponsorship will require state licensure and completion of the VisaScreen or equivalent certification.
  • Holders of F1 status eligible for post-completion OPT are welcome to apply.
  • This role is NOT eligible to participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's in Nursing preferred.
  • Education focus in Master's in Nursing program preferred.
  • Experience in educational programming.
  • Demonstrated teaching skills.
  • Certification in nursing professional development is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) competency is highly recommended.
  • Additional state licensure(s) and/or specialty certification/training as required by the work area.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate educational activities through a systems model for Department of Nursing staff, including orientation, continuing education, and competency programs.
  • Serve as a learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader, champion for scientific inquiry, advocate for Nursing Professional Development specialty, and partner for practice transitions.
