About The Position
The Nursing Director oversees the 24/7 operations of the Labor & Delivery department, ensuring high-quality patient care, efficient resource management, regulatory compliance, staff leadership, and achievement of organizational goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Current Texas Registered Nurse (RN) License
- 5+ years of Labor & Delivery or related clinical experience
- Active BLS certification (AHA required within 60 days of hire)
Nice To Haves
- Master's Degree in Nursing, Business, or related field
- 3-5 years of progressive leadership/management experience
- Nursing specialty or healthcare administration certification
Responsibilities
- Lead daily department operations and strategic planning.
- Manage operating and capital budgets.
- Recruit, develop, evaluate, and retain nursing staff.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and quality standards.
- Drive performance improvement, patient safety, and customer satisfaction initiatives.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.
- Monitor department performance using data and analytics.
- Optimize workflows, resource utilization, and operational efficiency.
- Foster a positive work environment and support staff development.
