About The Position
This position provides direct nursing care for patients of the Women and Family Center, including women in labor, post-delivery, post-surgical, newborn nursery, special care nursery, and pediatrics. The role involves completing physical and psychosocial assessments, creating and updating individualized Nursing Care Plans in collaboration with patients and their significant others, and implementing these care plans.
Requirements
- Current Iowa Registered Nurse License or compact state nursing license giving the ability to practice In Iowa.
- Current BCLS certification
Nice To Haves
- Certification in NRP required within 12 months (offered through ORHC)
- Course in basic fetal monitoring required within 12 months
Responsibilities
- Providing direct nursing care for patients of the Women and Family Center including women in labor, post-delivery, post-surgical, newborn nursery, special care nursery, and pediatrics.
- Completing physical and psychosocial assessments of assigned patients
- Creating/updating/individualizing Nursing Care Plans for assigned patients in collaboration with the patient and their significant others
- Implementing Nursing Care Plan
