About The Position
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking an experienced and dynamic Nursing Director – Behavioral Health to lead and oversee the daily operations of a high-volume behavioral health department within an acute care setting. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care while driving operational excellence, staff engagement, and continuous performance improvement. The Nursing Director serves as a key liaison between patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Required
- Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) required (or must be obtained within 6 months of hire)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to meet background and screening requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Behavioral Health leadership role (Director level preferred) OR 5+ years of Nurse Management experience in an acute care setting with strong behavioral health exposure
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction and oversight for all behavioral health nursing operations
- Plan, organize, and supervise departmental activities to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
- Drive performance standards and ensure alignment with organizational goals
- Ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care
- Lead and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient experience
- Ensure adherence to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety regulations
- Maintain compliance with applicable healthcare and accreditation standards
- Develop and manage departmental budgets while maintaining cost efficiency
- Optimize staffing models and resource utilization
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff and leadership teams
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth
- Support staff engagement, retention, and succession planning
