About The Position

The Nursing Department Coordinator is responsible for hiring, onboarding, training, and supervising nursing staff while ensuring the delivery of high-quality nursing care. Supports the development and implementation of nursing objectives, standards, policies, and procedures, and provides direct nursing services as needed. Assists with recruitment and staffing recommendations, oversees nursing schedules and on-call coverage, and ensures accurate and timely medical record documentation. Contributes to medication management controls and infection prevention efforts, including identifying risks and recommending corrective actions. Provides crisis intervention support, facilitates departmental meetings, participates in leadership and program meetings, and serves in the leadership on-call rotation. The Merced Crisis Residential Unit (CRU) serves adults, ages 18-59, in a 24/7 inpatient voluntary program with a 16-bed facility. Clinical services include rehabilitation/recovery services, including substance use rehabilitation services, with a length of stay of 30-60 days. Services also include pre-vocational or vocational counseling and medication evaluation and support services.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of licensed vocational nursing or psychiatric technology required
  • Four (4) years experience working as a nurse in a behavioral health field required
  • One (1) year of medication administration experience required
  • Valid California LVN or LPT license
  • Current CPR certification

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree, preferred
  • One (1) year experience in a nursing leadership role preferred
  • Supervision for BBS hours for AMFT, ACSW, and APCC professionals (where applicable)
