About The Position

Carewest is seeking passionate helpers to join their team as Nursing Attendants. This position is a temporary part-time role located at Signal Pointe, Complex Continuing Care BW, with a term ending August 31, 2026. The Health Care Aide (HCA) is a regulated member of the interprofessional health care team who provides ongoing client care. The HCA observes, monitors and reports on client status/condition including changes in physical and emotional status, ensuring changes are reported to the Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). This position also delivers prescribed medications accurately as per policy and procedure. In keeping with Carewest’s Frame of Reference, Philosophy of Care and Carewest policies, this position maintains professional and ethical standards at all times and is responsible for other related duties as required. The Complex Care program is for frail seniors who require the care of an interdisciplinary team to maintain and improve quality of life in safe, comfortable and supportive environments. Carewest offers a mix of secured and unsecured units.

Requirements

  • Graduation from Grade 12 is required.
  • Graduation from an Alberta Government recognized Health Care Aide program.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English is required.
  • Must be physically capable of managing the frequent lifting, transferring and repositioning of clients.
  • Active and current registration with CLHA required.

Nice To Haves

  • Related experience in a health care facility is an asset.
  • Program-specific training/experience is an asset.

Responsibilities
