About The Position

At NewYork-Presbyterian, Nursing Attendants serve as bedside care providers and important points of contact for patients and their families. They partner with nurses, ICU technicians, and other care team members to provide compassionate, patient-focused care under the supervision of a registered nurse. The role helps improve the patient experience and maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment. Duties include monitoring and recording patient vital signs, delivering meals, and transporting patients safely. This is a part-time night position in the Progressive Care Unit at NYP/Queens Hospital, scheduled for 21.75 hours per week from 11 PM to 7 AM. Rotating weekends and holidays are required. Upon hire, the employee must complete a mandatory two-week orientation, Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 4 PM.

Requirements

Previous nurse’s aide experience or equivalent experience in a hospital setting; or certification from an approved accredited Nurse Aid training program; or current enrollment in a BSN nursing program at the junior-year level or completion of at least one clinical practicum.
BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
High school diploma or GED.
Ability to complete a mandatory two-week orientation, Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 4 PM upon hire.
Availability for a part-time night schedule of 21.75 hours per week, 11 PM to 7 AM, with rotating weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-focused care under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Measure and record patients’ temperatures, pulses, respiration, and blood pressure.
Deliver meals and safely transport patients.
Help maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment.
