About The Position

At NewYork-Presbyterian, Nursing Attendants provide bedside care and serve as important points of contact for patients and their families. They partner with nurses, ICU technicians, and other care team members, helping maintain smooth operations in a fast-paced environment while bringing comfort and hospitality to patients. Under the supervision of a registered nurse, the Nursing Attendant provides compassionate, patient-focused care and performs selected care duties. The role supports a positive patient experience and helps maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment. This is a full-time evening position at NewYork-Presbyterian/Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital, scheduled from 3:00 p.m. to 11:15 p.m., five shifts per week, including every other weekend. Employees must live within a commutable distance because roles require on-site presence; NYP does not reimburse travel expenses.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Current CPR training from the American Heart Association.
Meet one of the following: previous Nurse’s Aide experience in a hospital setting; certification from an approved accredited Nurse Aid training program; or current enrollment in a BSN program at the junior-year level and/or completion of at least one clinical practicum.
Live within a commutable distance to NewYork-Presbyterian because the role requires on-site presence.

Responsibilities

Perform selected patient-care duties under the supervision of a registered nurse.
Measure and record patients’ temperatures, pulses, respiration, and blood pressure.
Help ensure meals are delivered and patients are transported safely.
Provide comfort and compassionate, patient-focused care.
Support a safe, clean, and healthy environment and contribute to a positive patient experience.
Work collaboratively with nurses, ICU technicians, and other members of the care team.
