Float Pool Nursing Assistant, Full-Time
About The Position
Saint Luke’s East in Lee's Summit is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide individualized patient care in a positive, supportive work environment. The role offers an opportunity to help improve hospital throughput and capacity while enhancing the patient experience. Candidates may include experienced Certified Nursing Assistants, nursing assistants, patient care technicians, or people interested in beginning work in patient care. Candidates without certification or applicable experience receive six weeks of full-time on-the-job training. The position works three 12-hour shifts per week and provides care under the direction and supervision of an RN or LPN.
Requirements
- Applicable experience: less than 1 year.
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- Team-oriented approach, eagerness to expand skills, and strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care under the direction and supervision of an RN or LPN.
- Perform direct and indirect patient care tasks.
- Assist with activities of daily living and care, including bathing, hygiene, elimination and toileting, nutrition, feeding, hydration, ambulation, and positioning.
- Anticipate patient family needs proactively.
- Individualize and modify care according to patient needs.
- Collaborate with other health care team members to enhance patient care.
