About The Position

The Nurse Assistant in the Med Surg/Telemetry Department is an unlicensed, non-certified assistive person who works under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit. The role assists non-critical patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care, and helps maintain a safe environment.

Requirements

• Current BLS within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.

Nice To Haves

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire, preferred.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physicians office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist non-critical patients with activities of daily living.
• Provide basic nursing care to non-critical patients.
• Assist in maintaining a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.
