About The Position
Join Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center as an evening-shift, full-time Nursing Assistant in the Intermediate Care - Stepdown (IMC) unit in Montclair, NJ. The Nursing Assistant provides essential hands-on daily care to patients under the supervision of registered nurses, helping ensure patient comfort, safety, and hygiene. The facility is an 820,000-square-foot medical center with 365 beds, more than 1,200 employees, and a 27-bed Emergency Room/Fast Track Unit. Pay is determined based on experience and education and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
Nice To Haves
- At least 1 year of prior Nursing Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) experience.
- CNA certification.
Responsibilities
- Provide basic nursing care to patients.
- Assist nursing personnel and physicians with emergency care.
- Accept responsibility for providing safe, appropriate, quality patient care.
- Assist patients out of bed and back to bed as appropriate.
- Observe patients while performing delegated tasks and report significant findings regarding patient safety, personal needs, and changes in condition to the licensed nurse.
- Respond promptly and courteously to call lights.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient records.
- Assist patients in wheelchairs, on stretchers, and while ambulating.
- Monitor vital signs, collect specimens, and monitor intake and output, meal consumption, height and weight, blood glucose, and point-of-care testing.
