Certified Nursing Assistant - IMCU
About The Position
At Legacy, nursing starts with compassion and centers on patients and their families. As part of an interprofessional team, the Certified Nursing Assistant contributes to providing high-quality care and improving the lives of patients and the community. The role is at Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center, a full-service medical center serving the South Metro area. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), the position provides and documents care that supports patients’ activities of daily living while respecting their dignity, autonomy, and individual routines.
Requirements
- Oregon: Current CNA certificate required.
- Washington: Current CNA certificate or Nursing Assistant Registered (NAR) license required. An NAR-licensed Certified Hospital Technician has 120 days to obtain the CNA certificate.
- For phlebotomy tasks, including capillary or venous blood draws, Washington employees must be a Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist.
- BLS for Provider certificate from the American Heart Association required.
Nice To Haves
- Basic familiarity with computers preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with personal hygiene and grooming.
- Maintain a clean, healthy, and safe environment.
- Practice basic infection control procedures.
- Help ensure adequate nutrition and fluid intake.
- Recognize and respond appropriately to emergencies.
- Provide and document care supporting patients’ activities of daily living under the direction of an RN or LPN.
- Support high-quality patient care while respecting patient dignity, autonomy, and individual routines.
