About The Position
At Saint Francis Hospital, the Nursing Assistant is responsible for assisting physicians while providing exceptional treatment to patients with a variety of medical conditions. This role involves collecting and reporting patient information, assisting patients with daily living activities, patient transport, specimen collection, and distribution of supplies. The Nursing Assistant will also deliver ice and beverages to patients and, as assigned, stay with at-risk patients to monitor patient safety.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of a Connecticut approved Nurse Aide Training Program preferred or in process of earning a BA in Nursing OR Health Sciences with at least one clinical completed OR significant previous healthcare related experience Proof with college transcript required OR have significant nurse assistant/healthcare related experience is required
- BLS certification required
- Ability to pass drug screening and background check
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant in an acute care setting preferred
Responsibilities
- Collect and report patient information and data
- Help patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, diet, fluid intake, skin care, bathing and dressing, positioning, transfers, mobility and ambulation

- Distribution of linens and supplies to patient rooms
- Deliver ice and beverages to patients
- As assigned, stays with at-risk patients to monitor patient safety
