About The Position

The Nursing Assistant, also identified as Rehabilitation Nursing Technician I (RNT), assists rehabilitation nurses with rehabilitation treatment and patient care in accordance with hospital, state, professional, and federal regulations and guidelines. The role provides compassionate, personalized support to patients during their rehabilitation journey and helps nurses guide patients toward their recovery goals.

The position requires effective communication with patients, families, and caregivers; competency in assisting with delegated rehabilitation treatment and patient care; and the ability to perform tasks delegated and supervised by rehabilitation nurses. The Nursing Assistant supports patient safety and patient-centered treatment and maintains ongoing communication with coworkers and supervisors.

Requirements

• CPR certification required.
• Effective communication skills for working with patients, families, and caregivers.
• Competency in assisting with delegated rehabilitation treatment and patient care.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist nurses with patients and treatments as needed.
• Help patients with daily personal activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
• Prepare and transport patients.
• Communicate patient concerns to nurses.
• Build relationships with patients and families and understand their needs to facilitate recovery.
• Assist rehabilitation nurses with delegated rehabilitation treatment and patient care under their supervision.
• Maintain ongoing communication with coworkers and supervisors.
• Support patient safety and patient-centered treatment.
