About The Position
Position: Nursing Assistant Unit Description 2A ICU is a 21-bed medical/surgical ICU serving high acuity medical ICU patients. The unit population is cardiac interventions, SARS, Cardiogenic shock, Rotoprone, Post-partum critical care patients and complex care ICU patients most of which have a medical or cardiac diagnosis. Shift: Part-time, Days Job Description: Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or other licensed care team member, the Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Tech (PCT/HUC): Provides direct patient care and related support by performing selected nursing procedures . Routine duties to assist medical and nursing personnel in the examination, treatment, and care of patients.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification (SRNA, CNA) required or successful completion of first year of a Nursing program and validation of a clinical rotation. (Must provide a letter from school verifying completion of first year clinicals.)
- Basic Life Support- Applicants will have 30 days from their hired date to provide completion of this certification if they don’t have it already.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct patient care and related support by performing selected nursing procedures.
- Routine duties to assist medical and nursing personnel in the examination, treatment, and care of patients.
