NURSING ASSISTANT
About The Position
The Nursing Assistant provides compassionate patient care to a diverse age group of patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions. The position provides direct patient care and collaborates with other patient care team members, including patients and families, to achieve optimal patient outcomes. All care is provided under the direction and supervision of a registered or licensed nurse. The Nursing Assistant assists with activities of daily living and delegated patient care treatments and procedures, including helping patients ambulate and turn and promoting their comfort.
Requirements
- High school level of knowledge.
- BLS certification required or obtained within 3 months of hire.
- Ability to document on medical records and patient care forms and understand printed health-related material.
- Ability to write legibly and accurately document care provided.
- Ability to communicate information to supervisors and coworkers.
- Familiarity with equipment used to move patients, take vital signs, and document.
- Works effectively with others and possesses tact, discretion, and diplomacy.
- Ability to work under stress and complete duties with sometimes numerous interruptions.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience or graduation from a Nursing Assistant program preferred.
- One year or more of experience as a Nurse Assistant preferred.
- Computer experience preferred.
