About The Position
The Nursing Assistant assists in the safe care of patients on the 6 Tower unit as directed and helps maintain safe and efficient unit operations while providing excellent customer service. The role is permitted to change a patient from portable oxygen to wall oxygen. This is a casual position requiring a minimum of 4 shifts or 32 hours per 4-week schedule, with variable hours.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Healthcare Provider CPR.
- Act 33/73 clearances.
- Comprehensive Crisis Management per policy.
Nice To Haves
- Current enrollment in or completion of a Nursing Assistant training program.
- Previous experience working as a nursing assistant in an acute care facility.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the safe care of patients on the 6 Tower unit as directed.
- Help maintain safe and efficient unit operations.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Change patients from portable oxygen to wall oxygen when permitted.
- Safely access, transport, and handle single-dose prescription and non-prescription medications.
- Safely access, transport, and handle sharps, including needles, suture kits, lancets, and syringes.
