About The Position

The Nursing Assistant assists the care team in providing age-specific, supportive, compassionate care and in maintaining a safe environment for customers and families. Working under direction, the Nursing Assistant collaborates with the care team to meet defined customer, shift, department, and organizational goals. Communication with the health care team about progress, concerns, questions, and problems is an essential part of the role. Duties may vary according to the assigned customer care unit and its clinical skills expectations, as outlined in the unit-based skill lists and Policy/Procedure # NA0002 - Customer Assignment.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Oral and written English proficiency sufficient to perform the essential functions of the position.
• Basic computer operation skills.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire or transfer; online certifications are not accepted.
• Successful completion of a Minnesota-administered nursing assistant certification exam, or completion of one semester of clinical rotation within an accredited nursing program.
