About The Position

The Nursing Assistant supports the care team by providing age-specific, compassionate care and helping maintain a safe environment for patients and families. Under direction, the assistant works with the care team to meet patient, shift, department, and organizational goals. Communication with the health care team about patient progress, concerns, questions, or problems is an essential part of the role. Duties may vary depending on the assigned care unit and its specific clinical skill expectations.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Oral and written English proficiency sufficient to perform the essential functions of the position.
• Basic computer operation skills.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire or transfer; online BLS certifications are not accepted.
• Successful completion of a State of Minnesota-administered nursing assistant certification exam, or completion of one semester of clinical rotation within an accredited nursing program.
