About The Position

Saint Luke’s East in Lee's Summit is seeking a Nursing Assistant to join its cardiovascular recovery team. The role is open to experienced Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), nursing assistants, patient care technicians, and people interested in becoming a nursing assistant. Candidates without certification or applicable experience receive six weeks of full-time on-the-job training. The position supports hospital throughput and capacity while enhancing the patient experience in a positive, supportive work environment.

Requirements

• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Team-oriented approach, eagerness to expand skills, and strong attention to detail.
• Basic Life Support RQI (Resuscitation Quality Improvement).
• Applicable experience: less than one year.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the direction and supervision of an RN or LPN.
• Perform direct and indirect patient care tasks.
• Assist with activities of daily living and care, including bathing, hygiene, elimination and toileting, nutrition, feeding, hydration, ambulation, and positioning.
• Anticipate patients’ family needs proactively.
• Individualize and modify care according to each patient’s needs.
• Collaborate with other health care team members to enhance patient care.
