About The Position

AnMed is hiring a Nursing Assistant for 6 South, a 28-bed adult surgical/medical-surgical unit in Anderson, South Carolina. The unit primarily cares for colon, lung, abdominal, bariatric, vascular, and trauma patients, as well as patients requiring complex wound management, ostomy care, and dialysis. The Nursing Assistant provides personal care and support with patients’ activities of daily living, obtains and documents measurements and vital signs, reports abnormal results to the patient’s nurse, and participates in hourly patient rounds. Requirements

Completion of an approved nursing assistant training course is required.
Students enrolled in an accredited nursing program who have completed one of the hospital’s approved nursing courses in their program may be eligible as an exception.
Students must be able to provide a college transcript showing successful completion of class requirements.

Previous experience is preferred.
RN students may be eligible for consideration for Student Nurse Technician opportunities.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care, including bathing, skin care, turning and positioning, and toileting.
Assist patients with meals, ambulation, and other activities of daily living (ADLs).
Obtain and document vital signs and report abnormal results to the patient’s nurse.
Measure and record intake, output, height, and weight.
Participate in hourly patient rounds, assessing pain, positioning, toileting needs, placement of personal items, access to the call light, and VTE prophylaxis.
