About The Position

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or other licensed care team member, the Nursing Assistant provides direct patient care and related support by performing selected nursing procedures and routine duties to assist medical and nursing personnel in the examination, treatment, and care of patients. This role is part of the Clinical Decision Unit (CDU), an Observation Unit with 29 telemetry beds, primarily serving cardiac, medicine, and pre/post-cardiac procedure patients. Patients are predominantly admitted from the ED, Cath Lab, and Direct Admissions that meet CDU criteria.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification (SRNA, CNA) required or successful completion of first year of a Nursing program and validation of a clinical rotation. (Must provide a letter from school verifying completion of first year clinicals.)
• Basic Life Support- Applicants will have 30 days from their hired date to provide completion of this certification if they don’t have it already.
