The IMC unit at Trenton is a 24-bed unit. We are classified as a Critical Care-Telemetry unit. The unit has a focus on cardiac patients. Common illnesses that are treated on our unit include NSTEMI, post cardiac catheterization, COPD, Pneumonia, and CHF. We do see a wide variety of other illnesses as well. IMC continues to be a unit with a lot of longevity, and great staff retention rates. We have monthly Unit Council meetings, which are an opportunity for shared governance. Our typical RN to patient ratio is 3-4:1 and our NA to patient ratio is a maximum of 12:1. This Magnet®-designated facility provides comprehensive medical and surgical care for its patients and is one of four recipients of the Truven Health Advantage Award in the category of Health and Clinical Outcomes. It is home to nine university affiliated residency programs. Here, you will find a Level II trauma center that is a nationally recognized heart, vascular and pulmonary specialties along with other specialties like orthopedics, neurosurgery, and women’s health.
