About The Position

The Nursing Assistant provides compassionate direct patient care to a diverse age group of patients with a variety of medical and/or surgical conditions. The position works collaboratively with other patient care team members, including patients and families, to achieve optimal patient outcomes. All care is provided under the direction and supervision of a registered or licensed nurse.

The Nursing Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living and delegated patient care treatments and procedures, including ambulation, turning, and promoting comfort.

Requirements

• High school level of knowledge.
• BLS certification required, or must be obtained within 3 months of hire.
• Ability to document on medical records and patient care forms and understand printed health-related material.
• Ability to write legibly and accurately document care provided.
• Ability to communicate information to supervisors and co-workers.
• Ability to work effectively with others and demonstrate tact, discretion, and diplomacy.
• Ability to work under stress and complete duties despite interruptions.
• Familiarity with equipment used to move patients, take vital signs, and document.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience or graduation from a Nursing Assistant program preferred.
• One year or more of experience as a Nurse Assistant preferred.
• Computer experience preferred.
