Nursing Assistant- Pediatric General Medical/Surgical (New Unit), Part time
About The Position
UW Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant (CNA) for its Pediatric General Medical/Surgical unit at American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. The position supports Registered Nurses and provides direct physical care and basic nursing procedures and treatments in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. Nursing Assistants help with activities of daily living, repositioning, transfers, patient mobility, and intentional rounding, and engage with patients, visitors, and families to build trusting relationships and provide high-quality care. This is a part-time, 0.6 FTE position averaging 24 hours per week. The evening schedule consists of 8-hour shifts from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., every third weekend, with holiday rotation. Hours may vary based on departmental operational needs. A sign-on bonus of $1,800 may be available. Additional pay components include weekend and evening differentials.
Requirements
- Graduate of a State of Wisconsin-approved Nurse Aid Training Program.
- Listed on the State of Wisconsin Nurse Assistant/Home Health Aid Registry upon hire.
- Obtain BLS/CPR certification within three months.
