About The Position

The Nursing Assistant (CNA) performs basic nursing assistant procedures learned through an outside training and certification program. The CNA practices medical asepsis, respects each patient’s dignity and privacy, maintains objectivity during patient care, follows basic hospital safety policies and procedures, and works within the scope of their training. The role works under the close supervision of a Registered Nurse and receives written and oral assignments expected to be completed during the scheduled shift. The position is on a 45-bed Neuro/Med-Surgical unit that uses a multidisciplinary team approach to care for complex neurological, medical, and surgical patients, including patients with acute stroke, chronic neurological illnesses, and neurosurgical, general medical, and surgical needs.

Requirements

State of Wisconsin certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA).
Currently CPR certified or eligible for certification.
Must be available during the first week of employment from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for CNA orientation.

Responsibilities

Follow basic hospital safety policies and procedures and work within the scope of training.
Complete written and oral work assignments within the scheduled shift.
