About The Position

The Nursing Assistant (CNA) performs basic nursing assistant procedures learned through an outside training and certification program. The CNA practices medical asepsis, respects each patient’s dignity and privacy, maintains objectivity during patient care, follows basic hospital safety policies and procedures, and works within the scope of their training. The CNA works under the close supervision of a Registered Nurse and receives written and oral work assignments to complete during the scheduled shift. The position is on a 45-bed Neuro/Med-Surgical unit. The multidisciplinary team provides care to complex neurological, medical, and surgical patients, including patients with acute stroke, chronic neurological illnesses, neurosurgical needs, and general medical and surgical conditions. The schedule includes PM shifts, 8- and 12-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, and a holiday rotation. The employee must be available during the first week of employment for CNA orientation from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Requirements

State of Wisconsin certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA).
Currently CPR certified or eligible for certification.
Must be available during the first week of employment from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for CNA orientation.

Responsibilities

Adhere to basic hospital safety policies and procedures and practice within the scope of training.
Complete written and oral work assignments during the scheduled shift.

Participate in care for complex neurological, medical, and surgical patients on the Neuro/Med-Surgical unit.
