The Nursing Assistant works on a 64-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit serving patients with orthopedic, neurological, traumatic, cancer-related, and other complex medical or surgical conditions that cause functional decline. Patients participate in 15 hours of therapy over a seven-day week, and nursing staff continue the interventions practiced in therapy to support safe mobility and progress toward returning home. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the Nursing Assistant provides care according to the plan of care, unit routine, and hospital policy. The role also includes safely transporting patients, providing constant observation when required, documenting care in the electronic medical record, and performing receptionist and clerical duties that support the nursing unit. This is a full-time position at Royal Oak Hospital. The schedule is a day shift, 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with variable days and every third weekend.
