About The Position

Under the direction/supervision of an RN, provides basic nursing care for assigned group of patients. The description outlines care for various patient age groups and conditions across different units including General Nursing Units, Special Care Areas, Maternal Child Units (Labor and Delivery, Nursery), Pediatric, GI Lab Unit, Chemical Dependent Unit, Psychiatric Unit, Emergency Unit, and Surgical Services. The role requires completing established competencies within the designated introductory period and performing other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

High School Graduate or equivalent
BLS - Obtained through approved American Heart Association Training Center or the Military Training Network
Non-Violent Crisis Intervention obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer to position

Nice To Haves

Satisfactorily completed a Nurse Assistant, EMT, Paramedic or Medical Assisting course.
6 months in healthcare industry and/or knowledge of basic medical terms and procedures

Responsibilities

Provides basic nursing care for assigned group of patients under the direction/supervision of an RN.
Cares for patients from age 15 years to maturity in General Nursing Units.
Cares for patients from age 15 years through adult with high risk conditions in Special Care Areas.
Provides care for patients with pregnancy-related conditions in Labor and Delivery.
Cares for newborns until discharge status in Nursery.
Provides care to patients from neonate through age of eighteen in Pediatric.
Cares for toddlers (beginning age 24 months) through adult in GI Lab Unit.
Provides holistic care to adult patients and families with emotional problems in Chemical Dependent Unit and Psychiatric Unit.
Provides care to presenting patients of all ages in Emergency Unit, including pediatric and high-risk adult care.
Provides care to patients from neonate to geriatric in Surgical Services.
Completes established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
