Nursing Assistant
About The Position
The Nursing Assistant provides compassionate, personalized care to patients during their rehabilitation journey and assists registered nurses with patient care and treatments. The role includes helping patients with daily personal activities, preparing and transporting patients, and communicating patient concerns to nurses. Nursing Assistants build relationships with patients and families, learn about their individual needs to support recovery, and recognize patients’ progress and milestones. The position is part of a supportive team at Encompass Health, a national inpatient rehabilitation provider.
Requirements
- CPR certification is required.

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist nurses with patients and treatments as needed.
- Help patients with daily personal activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
- Prepare and transport patients.
- Communicate patient concerns to nurses.
- Build relationships with patients and families and understand their needs to facilitate recovery.
