The Nursing Assistant (NA) 9LM MED TELE position at St. Luke's is a part-time role within the Medical and Telemetry unit of Aurora St. Lukes Medical Center. The NA assists Registered Nurses (RNs) with the daily care of patients, including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, and ambulation. Responsibilities also include measuring vital signs, documenting patient data in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), performing purposeful rounding, and assisting with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges. The role involves specimen collection, maintaining nursing area stock, cleaning equipment, and performing patient positioning and transporting duties that require physical exertion. Additionally, the NA assists with nutritional needs, skin integrity, and may be required to perform tasks such as removing IVs, providing post-mortem care, and bladder scans under RN direction. Practice must adhere to infection prevention policies, including hand hygiene and aseptic procedures. The NA must demonstrate knowledge of age-appropriate patient care.
