About The Position

This position is responsible for providing direct care to patients and serving their needs in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort. The role operates under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, Assistant Head Nurse, and/or Department Director, with potential guidance from an LPN, all to contribute to Essentia Health's mission and goals. Duties are varied by patient care unit/department and include a range of direct patient support and environmental maintenance. The Nursing Assistant must work within the job scope to meet the requirements of the Joint Commission and other applicable federal, state, and local regulatory and accrediting agencies. Requirements

  • Ability to work 24 hours per week
  • Ability to work 12 hour night shifts (7p-7am)
  • Ability to work every Thursday and Friday
  • If not certified as a Nursing Assistant, must be registered as a Nurse Assistant through the North Dakota Department of Health within 3 months from date of employment
  • BLS certification required within 3 months of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Nursing Assistant through the North Dakota Department of Health preferred

Responsibilities

  • Providing direct care to patients

  • Appropriately and safely transferring patients
  • Taking vital signs and completing recordkeeping
  • Recognizing and promptly reporting changes in patient condition to the RN
  • Maintaining a safe, clean environment for patients to promote the healing process
  • Working within job scope to meet the requirements of the Joint Commission and other applicable federal, state and local regulatory and accrediting agencies
