About The Position
This 48-bed unit is dedicated to ortho/neuro/trauma. Some specific diagnoses’ are total knee, total hip, spinal fusions, and fractured hips. We are Stroke and Trauma certified and complete additional education every three months to better care for this population of patients. Our multidisciplinary team includes RN’s, nurse techs, nursing assistants, unit secretaries, PT/OT, orthopedic care coordinator and case managers, Nurse to patient ration is 1:4-6 and Nurse Assistant ratio is 1:8-10. Corewell Health is offering up to $1,500 for Full Time and $750 for Part Time as a sign on bonus for this opportunity!
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support required
- Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately.
- Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals.
- Ability to move or lift patients and equipment.
- Ability to demonstrate Corewell customer service standards and behaviors in all aspects of job performance
Nice To Haves
- Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred
- Current CNA certification preferred
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services and appropriate documentation of services.
- Provides the services of an Observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation, either in person or via remote video monitoring, to maximize his/her safety.
- Performs general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit.
- Documentation of care provided in the electronic medical record.
