About The Position

Under the direction and supervision of an RN, the Nursing Assistant provides basic nursing care for an assigned group of patients. Care settings described include general nursing units, special care areas, maternal-child units, pediatric units, GI Lab, chemical dependency and psychiatric units, emergency care, and surgical services. Patient populations range from newborns to adults and geriatric patients, depending on the unit. The role requires completing established position competencies within the designated introductory period and performing other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Obtain BLS through an approved American Heart Association Training Center or the Military Training Network.
• Obtain Non-Violent Crisis Intervention within 60 days of hire or transfer to the position.

Nice To Haves

• Satisfactory completion of a Nurse Assistant, EMT, Paramedic, or Medical Assisting course.
• Six months of experience in the healthcare industry and/or knowledge of basic medical terms and procedures.

Responsibilities
