Nursing Assistant: Adult Medical/Surgical with Pediatrics
About The Position
The Nursing Assistant assists the care team in providing age-specific, supportive, compassionate care and in ensuring a safe environment for customers and families. The role receives direction and works with the care team to meet defined goals for the customer, shift, department, and organization. Communicating with the health care team about progress, concerns, questions, and problems is an essential part of the position. Duties may vary depending on the assigned customer care unit, including the specific clinical skills required. Unit-based skill lists outline expectations beyond the house-wide nursing assistant requirements.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Oral and written English proficiency sufficient to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Basic computer operation skills.
- Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire or transfer; online BLS certifications are not accepted.
- Successfully complete a State of Minnesota-administered nursing assistant certification exam, or complete one semester of clinical rotation within an accredited nursing program.
