Nursing Assistant: Adult Medical/Surgical with Pediatrics
About The Position
The Nursing Assistant assists the care team in providing age-specific, supportive, compassionate care and ensuring a safe environment for customers and families. The Nursing Assistant receives direction and works with the care team to meet defined customer, shift, department, and organizational goals. Communicating with the health care team about progress, concerns, questions, or problems is an essential part of the role. Duties may vary depending on the assigned customer care unit and its specific clinical skills. Unit-based skill lists outline expectations beyond the house-wide nursing assistant requirements.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Oral and written English proficiency sufficient to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Basic computer operation skills.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire or transfer; online-obtained BLS certifications are not accepted.
- Successful completion of a State of Minnesota-administered nursing assistant certification exam, or completion of one semester of clinical rotation within an accredited nursing program.
