About The Position

The Clinic Nursing Assistant is responsible for the coordination of patient care needs during office visits and assisting the nursing personnel and medical staff as needed. This role involves efficiently managing time, preparing patient rooms and equipment, accurately taking vital signs, performing necessary lab work, and updating medical records with comprehensive patient information. The position requires accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record and anticipating the needs of providers.

Requirements

  • Current CPR certification or willing to obtain 30-60 days after hire.
  • Knowledge of medical procedures, terminology, and equipment.
  • Proficient written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to recognize and assess situations to initiate appropriate help or triage as needed.
  • Ability to use a computer proficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Uses time efficiently, rooms patients on time, anticipates providers' needs and actively works to find additional projects when time is available.
  • Take accurate vital signs, performs necessary lab work, and ensures that proper documentation is included in the patient's record prior to providers visit
  • Prepares patient room and equipment for procedures, assisting when necessary.
  • Assists in updating the medical record with psychosocial, environmental, cultural, demographic, personal, physical, and educational information.
  • Documents accurately and timely in the electronic medical record.
