About The Position
The Nursing Assistant provides basic nursing care to a patient population under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The position is with CPMC-California Pacific Medical Center Van Ness. It is a part-time, regular, non-exempt role with an evening shift, 8-hour shifts, variable days, and work every other weekend. Weekly hours are 32. Employees may handle hazardous drugs in the course of their work in accordance with applicable NIOSH and USP 800 guidelines.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Hospital Assistant training or equivalent training as a nursing student.
- Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.
- Communication, organization, and relationship skills.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant in an acute care hospital, or experience as a nursing student.
Responsibilities
- Provide basic nursing care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Manage, store, prepare, receive, unpack, transport, dispose of, or administer hazardous or potentially hazardous drugs as required by the work, following NIOSH and USP 800 guidelines.
