About The Position

Capitol View Transitional Care Center is a state-of-the-art transitional care unit located in Regions Hospital and affiliated with HealthPartners as a separate nonprofit organization. The center provides short-term care to patients aged 18 and older, with an average stay of 17 days. Nursing Assistants provide quality care to 6–9 patients per day. The position is 0.8 FTE, or 32 hours per week, with a starting rate of $20.59 per hour; pay is based on previous Nursing Assistant experience. The schedule is 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, with shifts varying based on business needs, and requires working every other weekend. The employee must also attend HealthPartners Nursing Orientation in Bloomington on Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with reliable transportation to and from the orientation.

Requirements

Must be listed on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry and maintain current certification.
Completion of a Nursing Assistant Course.
Must be able to attend HealthPartners Nursing Orientation in Bloomington on Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Must have reliable transportation to and from the orientation.

Responsibilities

Inform the nurse in charge of significant changes in a patient’s status.
Provide direct patient services, including scheduled showers or baths, water and nourishment, passing meal trays, and assisting with feeding as needed.
Record food and fluid intake and output.
Assist with patients’ personal laundry.
Round on patients regularly and complete charting.
Set up rooms for new patient admissions.
Respond promptly to call lights.
Stock supplies such as gloves and blankets.
Perform other duties as assigned.
