About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation, a joint venture with Select Medical, is hiring a full-time Nursing Assistant (PCT) for the day shift at its inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Irving, Texas. The hospital provides care for individuals facing medical, physical, emotional, and vocational challenges related to brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation, and multiple traumas. The role supports patients with vital signs and personal care, meals, safe mobility, positioning, and transportation. The organization describes an extensive orientation program and offers resources intended to support employees’ career growth and personal well-being.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
• BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant.
• Certification as a nursing assistant.
• Experience in a related field, such as medical assistant experience or active enrollment as an RN student.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs, height, weight, and demographic data.
• Assist patients with personal and daily care, including bathing, oral hygiene, shaving, and hair care.
• Deliver meals and snacks, feed patients who are unable to feed themselves, and document oral intake.
• Turn and position immobile patients safely while maintaining proper body alignment, and participate in the mobility program.
• Transport patients to designated areas, including to and from treatment centers.
