About The Position

Provides direct patient care under the direction of Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses through the nursing process, following the established policies, procedures, and guidelines of the department and hospital. The Nursing Assistant has knowledge of assigned tasks and equipment needed to meet the specific needs of the patient population served.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in or completion of a formal nursing assistant program; currently enrolled in a student nurse program with at least one semester of medical/surgical clinical experience; or at least one year of previous clinical experience demonstrating competency in Nursing Assistant duties.
• Actively enrolled in or completion of high school or GED.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the direction of Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses.
• Use the nursing process in accordance with the department’s and hospital’s established policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Know and use assigned tasks and equipment to meet the needs of the patient population served.
