About The Position
Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the Nursing Assistant collects data related to patient status, performs basic nursing procedures, documents ongoing patient data, assists with treatments and procedures, and helps maintain patient care equipment. The role supports patients with daily care needs and helps maintain a clean and orderly care environment.

- Completion of a nursing assistant program is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, hygiene, toileting, feeding, and mobility; turn and reposition patients, alone or with assistance.
- Assist with fall-prevention interventions and patient restraints as delegated, and remove or reapply anti-embolism hose or compression devices.
- Support patient admissions by preparing rooms and orienting patients and families to the unit and its equipment.
- Take and record vital signs, repeating questionable values as needed.
- Prepare patients for meals and provide feeding assistance, snacks, and supplements.
- Collect urine, stool, and sputum specimens and deliver them to the appropriate department as requested.
- Complete accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in hospital rooms and designated utility, diet kitchen, hallway, and alcove areas; dispose of excess linen and keep linen emptied.
- Perform point-of-care testing as trained and delegated by the RN, and report laboratory values to the RN.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
