Nursing Assistant
About The Position
The Nursing Assistant works in the Progressive Care Unit on a full-time 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. schedule and will also cover Unit Secretary duties after cross-training. Under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Nursing Assistant performs designated tasks to provide age-appropriate patient care. Duties include obtaining and documenting reported height and admission weight; turning and positioning patients every two hours as indicated, using proper body mechanics; assisting with activity, ambulation, and getting patients up in chairs as ordered; and helping patients with personal hygiene, including showering, bathing, shaving, shampooing, perianal care, catheter care, and oral care. The role also involves accurately taking and recording vital signs within the established timeframe and consistently performing hourly rounds to support patient safety and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification preferred.
- Six months of experience in a hospital or long-term care facility preferred.
Responsibilities
