Nursing Assistant - OB-GYN
About The Position
Under the direction/supervision of an RN, provides basic nursing care for assigned group of patients. The description outlines care for various patient populations across different units, including General Nursing Units (ages 15+), Special Care Areas (high-risk patients, ages 15+), Maternal Child Units (Labor and Delivery, Nursery for newborns), Pediatric (neonate to 18 years), GI Lab Unit (toddlers 24 months+ to adult), Chemical Dependent Unit and Psychiatric Unit (adults), Emergency Unit (all ages, high-risk adult care), and Surgical Services (neonate to geriatric). The role requires completing established competencies within the designated introductory period and performing other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- BLS-Obtained through approved American Heart Association Training Center or the Military Training Network
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention obtained with 60 days of hire or transfer to position
Nice To Haves
- Satisfactorily completed a Nurse Assistant, EMT, Paramedic or Medical Assisting course.
- 6 months in healthcare industry and/or knowledge of basic medical terms and procedures
