Nursing Assistant - Med Surg
About The Position
Under the direction/supervision of an RN, provides basic nursing care for assigned group of patients. This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus. The description outlines care for various patient age groups and conditions across different units including General Nursing Units, Special Care Areas, Maternal Child Units (Labor and Delivery, Nursery), Pediatric, GI Lab Unit, Chemical Dependent Unit, Psychiatric Unit, Emergency Unit, and Surgical Services. The role involves completing established competencies within the designated introductory period and performing other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA).
- Must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
- Must obtain Non-Violent Crisis Intervention within 60 days of hire or transfer to position.
Nice To Haves
- Satisfactorily completed a Nurse Assistant, EMT, Paramedic or Medical Assisting course.
- 6 months in healthcare industry and/or knowledge of basic medical terms and procedures.
