The Nursing Assistant (NA) provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). This role involves assisting patients with daily living activities, monitoring vital signs, documenting patient information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), and supporting the overall care process. The NA plays a crucial role in ensuring patient comfort, safety, and well-being by performing tasks such as bathing, feeding, ambulation, and specimen collection. They also assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges, and maintain the nursing unit's supplies and cleanliness. This position requires the ability to perform various patient positioning and transporting duties, including lifting and pushing/pulling with proper technique and assistive devices. The NA must also adhere to infection prevention policies and demonstrate knowledge of age-specific care needs.
